Our Story
Meet Nathaniel and Maggie Thomas
Nathaniel Marbury Thomas a.k.a. Nate, and Maggie Nell Roberts Thomas were both originally from Birmingham/Leeds and Wetumpka Alabama, respectively. They were married in 1960. Relocating to Cleveland and raising 4 children on E. 111th St., Nate and Maggie were model parents and pillars of their community. Their home was the central hub of activity where Maggie, always said “I will mother many more children than my natural children” because there were always so many around. After many years in Cleveland, Ohio Nate and Maggie finally wanted to rest and began the search for a home to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In 1986 on Quarry Rd. in Oberlin, Ohio is where Nate and Maggie settled and immediately fell in love with their home and land. They remained in the home until their passing in 2011.
Nate and Maggie were both well loved and respected by family, friends, and everyone they encountered. They embodied the spirit of caring and love. This is the foundation the community center. Just like Nate and Maggie always did with their home, this community center will open its doors and welcome all who enter. Showing, giving, and asking that we garner and maintain a community of love and respect for others.

Vision Statement
We at Nate and Maggie’s Community Center envision reaching out to every kid and every young adult in the community.
Within five (5) years our goal is to provide a building (safe place) where the youth can come enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Play basketball, volleyball, football, computer rooms, chess club, home economics, etc. Get them off the street and away from the guns, violence, and drugs. Give them a place to come open their minds, to something other than the street life. Teach them and show them so they can live and survive tomorrow.
Mission Statement
Our mission at Nate and Maggie’s Community Center is to get the youth off the street. Give them a place to come and express themselves. Open their mind and heart to something they like and enjoy. Provide a place of guidance for them to achieve their dreams. Show them, teach them, and watch them achieve.
Nate and Maggie's Community Center
About
Nate and Maggie's community center is a place that is a "Safe Zone". This is a place where the youth of the area can come and study, learn, play, and grow. It is a place where they can escape the dangers of the streets. A place where they can be accepted and cared for.
This community center is an extension of the life lessons of the CEO/Founder Jeffrey Thomas Sr. His father (Nate) and mother (Maggie) were pillars of their community. Always willing to help and nurture all the people they encountered that needed assistance, a kind word, a meal, prayer, or even a simple hug. Showing love to those around them was the mission and the vision was always safety and showing there is a better way of life.
Today, Nate and Maggie's lessons are honored in the form of the community center. This center will provide food and clothing give-a-ways, temporary shelter, meals, classes, computers, music studios, sports, and so much more. Most of all it will be a place that was built on faith, love, and bring peace of mind back to it's members of the community.
